Wedding Venues

April 26, 2010

I’ve visited various Los Angeles wedding venues recently, just wanted to share some photos with you. Keep in mind that these are raw spaces, so use your imagination to decorate the sites.

Victor & Jei’s Wedding

July 20, 2009

My kuya, Victor and his lovely girlfriend, Jei, got married today at The Vineyards in Simi Valley. The venue is a hidden gem in Ventura County.  The little courtyard has steps to the altar. Behind the altar is a wall of waterfall, under the lattice are hanging lanterns. The wedding color is purple, brown and orange. The bridesmaids wore vibrant purple dresses and their bouquets have hints of orange and purple in them. Vic and Jei chose to walk down the aisle to their favorite love songs instead of the typical classics.

It was soOOooo hot in the Valley, good thing they provided parasol and iced water. It would’ve been good to also provide fans, so the guests can stay cool.

Bubbles were provided for the recessional.

Half of the courtyard was shaded and this is what happens to the guest seating when you have a hot summer wedding without enough umbrella coverage, you get them hiding in the shade leaving empty chairs.

I loved Vic & Jei’s wedding cake. It was a three tier cake with purple decorations. The cake topper was my favorite! THE SIMPSONS characters! When they walked over to cut the cake, the DJ played the Simpson’s theme song. It was so cute!

Reception set up was totally gorgeous. The sweetheart table was set on the stage with twinkle light draping across the ceiling. Purple tablecloth and a simple short floral centerpiece made the reception very clean and elegant.

The wedding favor is a cute little plant, which I heard that Vic and Jei grew from seeds. How sweet is that?!

The reception program was running late. Dinner entrees were not served till 9pm. Long but totally awesome speeches by the moms, MOH and 2 bestmen. I had to leave early just after they cut cake. I wonder if they had a money dance and more fun stuff afterwards.

Clanking the glass at MY wedding required another couple to mimic us, the bride and groom, kissing. Vic and Jei cleaverly twisted it around, and made the GUEST COUPLEs copy them. There were a couple kisses that was totally over the edge. =P

The main point of any wedding is that the couple, the family, and the guests have a great time. Vic and Jei sure did that with flying colors.
